WMC provides innovative resource solutions for the global energy transition, supporting a sustainable, stable, and efficient low-carbon economy. As an independent intermediary, WMC provides long-term supply, offtake, marketing, financing, and portfolio management solutions in both nuclear fuel and battery materials, complemented by asset development activities through a subsidiary.
WMC leverages its global network, market knowledge, and financial engineering capability to connect upstream production capacity of energy-transition materials with downstream demand, helping to build a cleaner future. Founded in 2016, WMC is a privately owned company headquartered in Amsterdam, with offices in Zug, Denver, and Hong Kong.
At WMC, the Data Platform Engineer plays a key role in shaping a data-driven organization that contributes directly to the global energy transition. You will be responsible for how data is used throughout the company and how we build, test, and release data solutions. Increasing business complexity, complex financial transactions, and varied process flows require hands-on engineering combined with a clear understanding of system design and reliability.
This role requires a strong technical foundation, solid project-management capabilities, and a proactive work style, combined with hands-on engineering, to elevate WMC’s data landscape to the next level.
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of Data Engineering, DevOps, and Cloud Infrastructure. You thrive on identifying opportunities for improvement and executing solutions that drive efficiency and innovation. You are experienced in building and maintaining data and CI/CD pipelines in Azure, as well as developing them from the ground up.
You have a broad technical curiosity and are eager to understand how systems, data, and infrastructure connect, while also possessing a strong ability to execute. You value proven technologies but remain open to exploring new tools that enable business growth—combining curiosity with the ability to turn ideas into reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions. This balance between exploration and delivery makes you a driving force behind WMC’s data-driven ambitions.
Initially, you will improve WMC’s current Azure data platform, deployment processes, and integrations. Over time, you will take the lead in shaping how data pipelines, infrastructure, and workflows are designed, secured, and operated. You take initiative, look for opportunities to improve, and follow through on ideas that make the platform and team more effective.

• Help define standards for version control, environment setup, and deployment across the data team.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Data Engineering, or a similar cloud-focused engineering role.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, ideally in Azure (Functions, Data Factory, SQL, Storage, IAM).
• Strong proficiency in Python, YAML, and SQL.
• Comfortable with DevOps tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions, or eager to deepen your knowledge.
• Takes initiative and likes to find better ways to build, automate, or collaborate.
• Proactive, ambitious, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong analytical and project-management skills, with the ability to take ownership from concept to delivery.
